Vincent and the team at France Outdoors are proposing a trip for Glenwalk members in sunny West Crete this June. Based in Chania and Hora Sfakion, this 7-day guided walking trip takes in the White Mountains, the Samaria Gorge and the quieter Ardena Gorges, and Pachnes (2543m) the highest summit in the White Mountains. The trip is moderate to challenging, with mountain walks and coastal views from high above the sunny Mediterranean.
Chania is said to be one of the oldest continually inhabited cities in the world. It is situated on an ancient Minoan site and today is known for its 14th century Venetian port, historic centre with narrow winding streets, and seafront restaurants. Hora Sfakion is a lovely, quiet and picturesque fishing village and capital of the Sfakia Region; in a magnificent setting it is the ideal base to explore the South coast of Crete.
